Fund
Raising
Fund raising will always be a part of amateur sports and with a
brief reflection on our funding sources, it becomes apparent that
our Junior Program must “Fund Raise." The Club Family Membership
fees cover access to the Club facilities & fairway play. However, as
with our Senior Men and Senior Ladies, the Junior Program is an
additional activity with unique expenses.

The additional, dedicated fairway time, the prizes, trophies, the
free lunch and instruction carry a cost. These additional costs are
funded through donations & fund raising. But with so many sports
and charities competing for donations, many companies and
organizations are already hard pressed to meet their community
objectives. Therefore, fund raising should be a major focus.
It is recognized that fund raising at weekend Club tournaments &
events can be “disruptive & inconvenient” to parents & family.
However, if our Juniors each volunteered for ONLY ONE of the various
Club events, we would achieve our funding goals. Selling 50/50 and
closest to the pin contests are generally our tasks. We are
confident our Juniors will step up and become involved in
fundraising.
We request that our Club tournament and event organizers identify
and advise us of fund raising opportunities at their Club
events. Consideration is also being given to locating sponsors for
the golf portion of our Tuesday clinics with the hopes of having
prizes for “closest to the hole” and perhaps for the younger
golfers, accuracy or closest to the “center – line." Any additional prizes would
depend on available funding.
Come back to this section to obtain information regarding our 2008
fund raising plans and activities. Also, if you have ideas or
suggestions for fund raising, please pass these on to our Junior
Chairman. In fact, if you have any ideas or suggestions on any
topic, then please let our Chairman know. There are no bad ideas.
